Comment: If you want kosher meat in Madrid, go here. Do not expect vegetables or fancy service, but you will get nicely prepared, well seasoned, grilled meats at reasonable prices. We had chicken, lamb, and meat filled pastry. Other diners has steak, sausage, And salad. Wine and beer are offered. This is a welcome addition to the Madrid Jewish community.

Comment: Horrible food, horrible atmosphere, obnoxious owner - should be avoided at all costs. Maybe owner will be forced to close and a kindler gentler tastier restaurant will emerge.
Worst service ever and real rip off

Comment: I was so happy to hear that there was a kosher restaurant in Madrid! Until I went. The service is by far the worst I´ve ever experienced. The lady has absolutely not skills to deal with people. There is no menu. "Oh, and what do you have for lunch?" "A little bit of everything". Umhh. I very much hoped that wasn´t true... Awfully expensive. If your standards allow for it, you will be better off at a vegetarian place. Don´t spoil your day.
La Escudilla Madrid

Comment: Avoid at all costs. Owner is obnoxious and insulting. Does not provide a menu and has limited food. Charges a fortune for a plate full of carbohydrates and fatty meat. Based on her character, her kashrut certification should be revoked.

Comment: We really enjoyed our dinner at La Escudilla. 4 of us all had couscous one with 3 with beef all happy. Enjoyed the pre dinner nibbles. Would go back.
London neighbourhoods Our family of four is traveling to London in July. We would like to look for an air bnb in a secular neighbourhood within an hour's walk to an Orthodox synagogue. Can you suggest some neighbourhoods for us to try?
how to ship belongings What does Customs allow or what items do they tax heavily. I have electronics, laptop, tablet, printers, I need as a writer, and also want some household items for an apt. with me. Want to give out blankets, soup, and bread to poor and shut-in Holocaust survivors too. Have Israeli friends, but don't want to bother them before I visit them. No idea who to contact for apt. search and for Customs requirements.
